About this course

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to design and install grid connected
photovoltaic systems.
Participants will learn about the set-up, design and placement of photovoltaic systems as well
as applicable standards and guidelines, metering, connecting a grid connect inverter and the
completion of associated installation documentation.
This course is delivered in simulated conditions where participants are required to complete
theory assessments, system design and inverter assignments as well as a final assignment
that is to be completed post course. You will be required to complete additional work in your
own time on top of your face to face attendance to achieve this Statement of Attainment.
Prerequisites
Granting competency in this unit shall be made only after competency in the following unit(s) has/have been confirmed.
UEENEEK125A- Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems (pre-requisit to K135A and K148A units)
UEENEEG103A- Install low voltage wiring accessories
UEENEEE104A- Solve problems in d.c circuits
UEENEEE137A- Document and apply measures to control OHS rosks associated with electrotechnology work
AND
UEENEEE108A- Lay wiring/cabling and terminate accessories for extra-low voltage (ELV) circuits
OR
UEENEEG106A- Terminate cables, cords and accessories for low voltage circuits
or equivalent e.g. A current unrestricted electrical licence issued in an Australian State or Territory.
Students will also need to complete pre-work before attending college.
